Rachel Reuben is the Director of Web Communication & Strategic Projects in the Office of Public Affairs at the State University of New York at New Paltz, where she has worked in various Web communication, public relation, and marketing capacities since 1998. She is a regular speaker at conferences. Rachel earned her MBA in marketing and management in December 2009, and holds undergraduate degrees in business administration/marketing, and organizational communication.

At New Paltz, Rachel oversees the Web Management Office, Welcome Center, and is Team Lead for the university’s Creative Services Team. She is an active member of the Emergency Response Team, coordinating communication efforts, as well as the President’s Brand Marketing Taskforce.

In August 2008 she published a research paper called “The Use of Social Media in Higher Education for Marketing and Communication: A Guide for Professionals in Higher Education,” which was cited during both keynote addresses at the Stamats conference in November, as well as a number of other conference sessions and blog posts throughout the country.

During her tenure at SUNY New Paltz Rachel has overseen four major redesigns of their main site, has implemented the OmniUpdate content management system, two different mass notification systems, and initiated several e-recruiting efforts for the college, including the use of social media. Advergirl listed SUNY New Paltz as one of the top four colleges using social media.
