I would recommend Web Writing for Higher Education to anyone involved in writing and working in a communication or marketing department. It gives great examples of changes that are simple to make but make a large difference in the readability and focus of your website and web content. The tools provided toward the end of the course for content templates can be especially practical for certain kinds of content that are often repeated.
I found the wide variety of topics covered in the HESM14 Conference very valuable. The topics were relevant to new and experienced social media users in higher education marketing and the presenters shared knowledge that can be implemented right away. I’m looking forward to taking what I learned back to my colleagues!
The presentations offer smart lessons for using Google Analytics. More importantly, they provide opportunity and context for reflection on my institution’s own marketing goals.
This was a really helpful conference, even though I work in social media only. I thought the web stuff was great, even if a bit out of the scope of my work.
