Shelby Thayer, Marketing Associate at Penn State World Campus and Joshua Ellis, E-Marketing Manager at Penn State Outreach will show you how to use analytics to inform your marketing strategy no matter which communication channels you use. They will demonstrate through a few case studies advanced analytics techniques to evaluate email, offline, social media and SEO campaigns. Last, they will introduce the Google Analytics API and show you how it can be used.

- What analytics is, what it is used for, how it is measured and what tools and techniques it employs
- How to install and set up Google Analytics to extract meaningful analytics results. The Google Analytics API will also be discussed.

Joshua Ellis, E-Marketing Manager - Penn State University
Joshua is E-Marketing Manager for the Marketing and Communications unit of Penn State Outreach. His team handles the technical and creative elements for many of Outreach’s interactive marketing efforts, including Web design, e-mail marketing, and analytics support for Penn State’s World Campus.
