WEB DEVELOPER/COORDINATOR

The California State University, Office of the Chancellor, is seeking a developer/coordinator to be responsible for the design, development, programming, and maintenance of the Analytic Studies Department (ASD) website, the public access location for statistical information regarding application, enrollments, and degrees conferred across the California State University System.
Duties:
Under general direction, the incumbent will be responsible for the design and appearance of the website, to ensure the website(s) or web pages are readily accessible and are up to date. The Web Developer/Coordinator will: perform scheduled updates of existing reports on the web; perform updates of web contents and create new content based on direction from management; assist and perform CSUCO institutional updates or changes in the look-and-feel of ASD web pages that enhances the value of the site; review and perform quality control checks for regularly scheduled updates of existing reports and all new web content, including the initiation and follow-up of management approved processes; plan and perform periodic checks on functionality (such as links, menus, and images functioning correctly), compatibility, and test proposed web solutions; verify facts, dates and statistics and seek out users to gather feedback for website improvement and enhancements or perform research to coordinate interesting and informative formats; resolve all browser compatibility issues; troubleshoot web issues reported from internal and external end users; coordinate with IT under management direction in any web maintenance and quality control efforts; propose and implement changes that make the current website more intuitive; replace static information pages with self-service query and reporting capabilities; provide support for upgrading existing web applications or establishing new web applications, such as dashboards and scorecards; and maintain familiarity with the evolution of existing web development technologies (such as HTML5, and Web 2.0) and emerging web technologies.
Requirements:
This position requires three years of progressively responsible World Wide Web experience; three years experience working with web languages like HTML, XHTML and JavaScript; knowledge of other computer software programs, including Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Dreamweaver, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Office(Word, Excel, Powerpoint); basic skills with statistical packages, like STATA, SPSS, or SAS; working knowledge of database query tools, such as MS Access, SQL, MySQL, etc; basic skills with Adobe Photoshop; knowledge of advanced programming languages, such as PHP, ASP, Java, or Perl; knowledge of XML and CSS technology; knowledge and experience with cross browser issues and knowledge of content management systems (e.g., Interwoven TeamSite) along with attention to detail and high degree of initiative with strong desire to improve.
