Dashboard Outline & Tagging/Tracking Plan
Now that you have identified your measurable departmental objective(s), it’s time to set things in motion to track and tag what you need to make your “Metrics Wishlist” come true.
The goal of this week’s assignment is to help you plan, set up and work out any issues.
This assignment counts for 10% of your final grade and this assignment rubric (pdf) will be used to grade it.
Reviewing this week’s short video lessons, your answers to this week’s brainstorming discussion and the feedback you received, share the final outline of your tracking and tagging implementation plan for your instructor to assess.
Your 1- to 2-page tracking & tagging plan (or recap) should include the following components:
- A definition and a short description of each goal you set up in Google Analytics to track your micro and macro conversions. Please include a screenshot of the set-up for your GA Goals. Try to include at least 2 types of goals (destination, duration, pages/session or event)
- A completed Dashboard Outline (referring to your “Metrics Wishlist” from last week) for the 3 to 4 KPIs you will use to measure your objective(s) using the following format:
- Short answers to the following questions:
- Where will you find your metrics or dimensions?
- At what frequency would you monitor this data?
- Do you think you will need any proxy metrics?
- A link to your tagging plan by editing a copy of the Google Sheet shared in the video lesson. (File>Make a copy or Download – don’t forget to set the permissions correctly to share it in your assignment)
- A list of any outstanding issues you need to address to roll out your tracking and tagging implementation along with possible solutions you’re considering, so your instructor can help if needed.
Save your assignment as a PDF document using the following file name format: wk2_firstname_lastname (for John Doe, wk2_john_doe.pdf) and submit it by Sunday 11:59PM ET as a comment.
