The Director of Communications & Content Strategy is part of the leadership team in the Communications & Marketing office at Gettysburg College, reporting to the Executive Director of Communications & Marketing.
This position helps to establish the conceptual and strategic direction for content development and leads the content production team in creating, integrating, disseminating, measuring, and repurposing content through all College channels, including the website, social media, presidential remarks, and various marketing campaigns. The Director will also support and collaborate with the Editor of the magazine and the Director of Creative Services to ensure all College assets are integrated within a dynamic content strategy.
This position will be forward thinking about integrating technology into the College’s communications and marketing efforts and will push content creators to think innovatively about how they produce and distribute the content they create. More specifically, the Director will see value in story telling through text-based articles, but will push content creators to test other forms of content creation.
In addition, this position will have a key responsibility in ensuring Gettysburg’s forthcoming new website incorporates relevant and engaging content for a variety of audiences. This person will also readily adopt and seek out content that is “on” Gettysburg’s personality through recently completed work done by a research and reputation consultant. They will appreciate and pioneer audience content segmentation and think about Gettysburg’s content planning as a journey specific to each audience; aligning objectives to content decisions.
The Director will work closely with administrators of distinctive programs, admissions, development, faculty, and staff members and works collaboratively with members of the Office of Communications &amp;amp;amp; Marketing.
