Stéphane Hamel, Web Analytics Professor at the University of Laval & UBC
With over twenty years of experience, Stéphane Hamel is a leading voice in online analytics, helping organizations understand the value of online optimization. On top of his research, advocacy and consulting work, he also teaches a graduate course on web analytics at the University of Laval and the « Award of Achievement in Web Analytics » and «Fundamentals of Business Analysis » courses at the University of British Columbia.
Hamel is a frequent speaker at, among others, the eMetrics Marketing Optimization Summit, THE leading conference in the field.
He is involved in various research & development activities contributing to the growth of the web analytics industry:
- creator of the “Online Analytics Maturity Model“,
- two startups: “WASP: Web Analytics Solution Profiler” and “gaAddons: Google Analytics addons,”
- creator of concepts such as “Just-In-Time Tagging”
Stéphane Hamel was among the first to receive the “CWA: WAA Certified Web Analyst” title and was awarded the “WAALTER Award: Web Analytics Association Leadership and Technical Excellence Recognition.”
