Understanding Social Media Practices
Embracing a Culture of Connectivity: Understanding the Social Media Practices of Young Adults
On-Demand – Recorded on July 15, 2010

Many young adults have incorporated e-mail, Facebook and text messaging into their daily practices, both professionally and personally. They use these tools to connect, collaborate, communicate and create. This Master class will examine the different social media practices common among young adults and help you understand the cultural logic behind everyday social media practices so as to best incorporate social media into your efforts. Special attention will be given to the challenges universities and colleges face when trying to connect with students and young alumni.

Who should attend and why:

  • Primary audience: web communications directors, social media strategists, social media managers, online community managers, marketing and communications directors, admissions and enrollment teams, alum association or office teams and other professionals working in advancement
  • May also attend: web editors, web content coordinators, web designers, web developers, faculty members and student affairs staff members.

Hi, just a technical question — we’ve bought a package and we want to know if the Q&A period will only be via telephone, or if we can ask questions by typing them in as well. Thanks!
