Tim Nekritz is the associate director of public affairs at SUNY Oswego and chief content editor of Oswego.edu. He has spearheaded the college’s foray into social media, recruiting and supervising student bloggers plus creating and maintaining Oswego’s official Facebook Fans page.

As an adjunct professor of communication studies, he revamped the college’s “Media Copywriting” course to include a Web writing component. Nekritz regularly teaches “Writing for the Web” sessions to those who create and edit Web pages at SUNY Oswego.

Nekritz is also director of the Oswego History Project, writing a book on the college’s upcoming sesquicentennial and building related resources for future historians. He previously authored “Oswego’s Public Library: A History,” which chronicled the state’s longest-operating library and helped raise funds for the historic building’s current renovations.

An active volunteer with a keen interest in the community, he previously worked as the city editor at The Oswego Palladium-Times and as public relations and marketing director for Oswego’s Harborfest.

He holds a master’s degree in history from SUNY Oswego and a bachelor’s in communication from SUNY Brockport. He keeps a blog on writing, words and the Web at http://insidetimshead.wordpress.com.
