Why (and how to) present and publish to advance your #highered career in 2020

Sharing to advance your higher ed career We love to share in higher education. It’s part of our culture. Our industry is probably the only one where competitors (institutions competing for the best students, faculty or resources) exchange homework, tutor each other and embrace artistic borrowing as a way of getting things done – fast […]

  • I recommend this course for anyone who writes web content, whether a newbie or a veteran. Each component of the course imparts valuable information on how and why web writing should be done properly.

I’ve been a news and web writer for a long time, but I still learned numerous lessons and tips that will help me improve. The modules on keywords, search engine optimization and personas were particularly useful. Because of this course, I feel like I’m much better suited to not only produce better web content for my university, but also to help the content providers in other departments to maintain a consistent message, voice and style.

  • This course has already provided me with a solid foundation and the beginnings of analysis on our website. The assignments were based on real-world examples from our own sites and proved to be practical right from the start. Now that the course is over I can bring ideas from the assignments to our marketing team for brainstorming and implementation. Having access to the course materials for a year will be a great help as we continue experimenting with finding data meaningful for our work. I highly recommend the course as an introduction to Google Analytics.

  • I’d certainly recommend this course, even if you’ve been working in higher ed online for many years like I have. You’ll be surprised what you don’t know, but also what you do know, but didn’t know how to articulate.

  • This conference provided great tips and strategies for many different aspects of social media. It’s so helpful to hear how other campuses are managing, implementing and measuring their content and platforms. It was the best conference I have attended this year.
