The Higher Ed Experts Class of 2013 is composed of people just like you working in universities and colleges.

Our grads earned their Higher Ed Experts certificate by demonstrating mastery in a given critical skill for digital professionals such as Web Analytics, Social Media Marketing, Search Engine Optimization, Responsive Web Design and Web Writing.

All completed their 4-week or 8-week online course with a final grade above or equal to 80/100.

We are so proud of these dedicated professionals that we want to tell the world how great Higher Ed Experts grads are in a series of interviews.

Today, let’s meet Corey Hinds who earned 2 Higher Ed Experts certificates in 2013 after taking the 4-week online course on Responsive Web Design for Higher Ed taught by Stewart Foss and the 4-week online course on Web Analytics for Higher Ed taught by Joshua Dodson.

1) What is the most rewarding part of your job?

Corey Hinds got creative to on his SELFIEticate!.

After earning 2 Higher Ed Experts certificates in Responsive Web Design and in Web Analytics in 2013, Corey Hinds had to get creative to show both on his SELFIEticate!

I am a Web Developer at the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus and the most rewarding part of my job is creating web applications to solve problems which then translate into achieving greater levels of customer satisfaction.

2) What is the most challenging part of your job?

I find keeping current with the latest trends in higher education as it relates to the web is the most challenging part of my job. This is as a result of the dynamic nature of the web and how quickly technology changes and advances.

3) What has been the most valuable outcome of the course you took with Higher Ed Experts?

I have taken two courses with Higher Ed Experts and both have broadened my knowledge and allowed me to apply practical steps on the job at my institution. These practical steps have allowed me to use what I have learnt during these courses on the job and the ability to also share this knowledge with others.

4) Besides Higher Ed Experts courses and conferences, what else do you recommend for professional development in higher education?

I believe we can always learn from each other, so the possibility of networking with other colleagues at similar institutions can provide the platform for the rich exchange of ideas and information. I believe this networking can take the form of peer exchanges with colleagues from other campuses and institutions.
